It was way back in 2005, a couple of years after Sarah opened the studio and was offering classes to the pupils of the near by Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, where I was a pupil, that I first fell in love with Pilates, Pilates Plus and the one and only Sarah Duley.
Once in the rickety world of dance and accidentally sliding into the even more rickety world of acting I decided my love affair with Pilates had gone on long enough and to plunge into a full blown relationship. With Sarah’s help and advice, I spent three years training with Kelly Goulon in South Kensington (where I also currently teach). This meant a lot of early mornings in South Ken studying combined with late nights performing in London theatres. Whilst on tour in the UK, I became a member of almost every library in the country to keep up my studying of Anatomy and Physiology. (And not to brag, but I was the only member of the dance company not to get injured, 100% down to the Pilates training)
Whilst training with Kelly Goulon, I was also lucky enough to train with Yamuna Zake in Body rolling and qualified as a Yamuna face ball practitioner at the beginning of 2016.
I am delighted for my Pilates journey has turned full circle back to Pilates Plus and St Margarets.
