Judy loves Pilates for its holistic approach, its elegance and versatility, its power to improve people’s lives by changing their bodies, and believes that there are few people who can’t be helped by Pilates. She loves to see people growing stronger and straighter, losing their aches and pains. Judy discovered Pilates while searching for a solution for a chronic lower back injury. Sarah Duley put her on the road to recovery, and with Sarah’s encouragement, Judy trained as a teacher with Kelly Goulon through the Pilates Foundation, qualifying in 2006. She has taught at Pilates Plus ever since. She knows through personal experience that Pilates works, and that is what she strives to communicate through her teaching.
Judy has been practicing Scaravelli-inspired Yoga since 2010. This yoga is focused on the spine, using the breath to increase awareness of the whole body, working with gravity and connecting with the ground through the feet. This work is quiet and deep, yet strong and uplifting, and can bring about profound changes in body and mind: as we work to become grounded, we experience a sense of lightness.
