Originally Pilates was taught in a studio such as we have at 4 Crown Rd. A studio refers to the equipment used in it such as the reformer, Cadillac and Wunda chair. These pieces work with springs and pulleys that add to muscle resistance and help us to achieve long, lean muscles.
Today there are various pieces of ‘small equipment’ such as the foam roller, over ball and flex ring toner, that simulate the work of the springs and pulleys and give us resistance to work against or instability to further challenge our core muscles. They also add variety to your class and will we promise, keep you on your toes!
These classes are referred to as ‘mat work classes’ and are held at studio 117
All our small group classes are kept to a max of 6 in a class ensuring attention to detail at all times.
It is also possible to have private mat work classes.
Below you will find a description of the various types of class we offer. If you need help deciding what’s right for you please don’t hesitate to call us where one of our receptionists will be happy to help.
To secure your place you will need to make payment. This can be done over the phone or in person.
All mats and small equipment will be provided by Pilates Plus, so you only need to bring yourself along, wearing comfortable clothes and a pair of socks please!
