Pilates is an exercise system practiced by millions of people, young and old, worldwide. It is extremely beneficial for back problems, rehabilitation and during pregnancy, but is equally beneficial for those simply wishing to stream line their bodies and increase flexibility and general well being.

Our fully equipped Pilates and Gyrotonic® studio offers personalised classes suitable for beginners and advanced students alike. On your first private session, one of our highly qualified instructors will discuss your personal goals with you, and a postural analysis will be made. Following this you will be lead through the basic principles of the Pilates technique. Focus is on pelvic floor muscles, core stability, postural awareness, breathing and stretching.

Subsequent classes will be taken with a maximum of 3 clients at a time. You will continue with your own personal programme under the guidance of the instructor who will always be there to assist you. Once secure in your basic routine, original Pilates equipment, such as the Cadillac, Reformer and Wunda chair will be used to increase muscle resistance and enhance strength, co-ordination and flexibility.

pilatesfoundation_logoAs a member of the Pilates Foundation, the proprietor Sarah Duley has set high standards for the teaching staff at Pilates Plus. Instructors all come from a background secure in the fundamentals of Pilates such as neutral spine, breathing techniques and core stability. Equipment is only used once these principles have been learnt. Personality, a caring nature, patience and humour are all qualities looked for and found in the instructors of Pilates plus.

Pilates is not an overnight cure, but it becomes a way of life and a challenge which gives long lasting results. Clients can often be heard saying, “I’m glad I persevered”.
